FAQ    (SMP)

1. What does the procedure involve?

The procedure involves the use of micropigmentation to apply small 'dots' of ink onto the scalp. A micro-needle is used to apply the ink between existing hair follicles. This can vastly improve the appearance of thinning hair, receding hairlines, bald patches, or even scarring. Different shades of ink can be selected to ensure the end result looks as natural as possible.

2. How many sessions will I require?

It depends on the individual and the intended outcome. Results can often be seen after only one session. However, most people require 2 to 3 sessions on average for the full effect to be seen.

3. Is SMP a painful procedure?

Since SMP is a non-invasive procedure, it is relatively pain-free. Although some clients may experience vary mild discomfort, there is usually no major concern. No pain medication or local anesthetics are necessary.

4. I have scarring on the scalp. Can SMP help?

For patients suffering from scarring, either from previous hair transplants or due to injury or surgeries, SMP is often very effective. The application of micro pigments will camouflage areas of scarring, while the use of a precise micro-needle makes the process pain-free.

5. Does SMP look natural?

Once the SMP process has been completed, the end result looks extremely natural. Different shades of ink can be used to provide the appearance of depth, and micro pigments can be matched to blend in with the existing hair color. SMP also provides a natural appearance for receding hairlines and baldness.

6. Is SMP suitable for women?

SMP can be can effective treatment for women who are suffering from thinning hair or bald patches. The procedure ineffective for different causes of hair loss, such as stress, menopause, medication, trauma, or genetics.

7. How long do the results last?

After completion of your treatment (1-2 sessions) a client should expect the strength of the color to last for many years. Over a longer term, a client will very gradually begin to notice slight lightening (not discolor) of the treatment. When this occurs you can undergo a brief "touch up" session to restore any fading and secure many more years of the pigment.
